I started this blog in November pretty much on a whim. I expected it to be one of those hobbies I kept up with for a few weeks and then forgot about, only to sheepishly remember I made a big announcement about wanting to write more several months ago.
Surprisingly, this has become something I enjoy more than any other hobby I have ever tackled. I’ve pushed myself in terms of my writing, I’ve opened up more than I originally anticipated, and, probably the most surprising but most encouraging part, I’ve met some really supportive and kind bloggers.
All of those elements have combined to create a passion I never expected or even really desired. Over the past few months, I’ve started to have a chatter inside of me that took a while to harness, but once I did there was no ignoring it.
So, without further ado, here goes: I’m freelancing!
I’ve made the leap and transformed my page from just a blog of my ramblings into a consulting website. Every Shade of Neutral will now serve as not only a place for me to spill my thoughts but also as a landing site for potential clients.
CLIENTS. That’s such a wild thought!
If you’ve been following for a while, you may recall my vent session, Living for Likes, where I briefly described what I do for a living. Well, grad school is not cheap and I realized that I could be using my skills and knowledge of social media and digital platforms to help support myself. I did quite a bit of research on consulting, freelancing, and pricing (and truthfully a little bit of soul-searching during the website development process), and I now feel extremely prepared to take on organizations and individuals as digital media consulting clients.
When I was younger I had no clue who I would be when I grew up. I had so many ideas and they all seemed fine, but nothing felt like it. Well, this project kind of feels like it. And that’s terrifying and exciting all at the same time.
So that’s it! I’ve spent a lot of time constructing the new site, and it would mean the world to me if you checked it out! And- time for a shameless plug- if you or someone you know could use a social media consultant, please, please, please contact me!
Thanks for reading, now and always. It means more to me than you know.
